Happy Boxing Day
Well...
we survived.
Santa-baby was good to us again.
Quotable quotes from this season:
10yr. old who STILL believes in Santa: Mom, How tall do you think Santa is?
Me:(without missing a beat) He's 5'10.
10yr. old: Wow--how do you know that?
Me: Oh, I've seen him!
10yr. old: (reverently) Lucky.
------
7yr.old: Mom. I've figured out the whole Santa thing.
Me(wondering who spilled the beans): You have?
7yr.old: Yes. You see, he likes different things at different people's houses so he doesn't get sick of Chocolate chip cookies. Maybe we should give the reindeer something else next year.(Our friends make sugar cookies and leave a coke for Santa there...while Santa likes Chocochip cookies and milk here.)
Me: ahhhhh. Yup--you got it all figured out.
-----
teen: Thank you, Mrs. Claus for my new clothes...
7yr.old: Um. You mean the elves. It's not Mrs. Claus's job to make clothes. They have elves for that.
teen: Well, what is Mrs. Claus's job then?
7yr.old: Oh, She bakes treats and makes hot chocolate, and then kisses Santa a lot. Especially when he has to get in his sleigh.
teen: What does she do the rest of the year?
7yr. old: Oh, she gets to pick where they go on vacation.
---
16yr old teen: I cannot imagine having a baby, much less being the mother of the Christ child.
15yr.old: Can you imagine the people trying to give advice to her on how to raise Him, because she was so young?
::both shudder::
16yr old: Gosh, and how would it be to have a son more perfect than you--and you have to admit it? Talk about humbling.
*sigh*
Happy holidays.
