I can do hard things...

I wouldn't say I'm a wuss..but man, do I hate to make waves.
I don't enjoy making people (other than my kids) do what they're supposed to do. I consider myself a peace-maker and a smoother.I do believe I've mentioned this before.
My calling at church is kicking my butt.
Kids are stinkin' spoiled beyond belief these days. No concept of how much they have, and are totally ungrateful.
Everyone else pays the price for this.
Do you know, I actually had a young woman (14 years old)*** tell me that her dad could "suck her balls" when I discussed her parents' decision that she not hang around another girl she's been misbehaving with? Suck her balls? Are you kidding me?! Her colonel dad calls her "strong willed".
I'm sick of dealing with it and have gradually begun the countdown to "release" from this calling.
But until my final day...
Operation KICK BUTT AND TAKE NAMES is now in session.
DON'T MESS WITH ME.
You haven't begun to comprehend Strong-Willed.

**Susan W.Tanner of the General YW Presidency Says So!
***This 14 year old has been a member of the church her entire life, while the product of divorce, has (by her own admission) had a very healthy life, and knows exactly who she is. She has recently been involved in an experimental "Alternate" relationship...which she also decided was not what she wanted. She is now paying the consequenses for her choices, but of course doesn't want to pay the fee.
There is something to be said for today's youth and rebellion. Believe me when I tell you that we are all (parents and leaders) very plugged into her life... and she absolutly knows who she is. *Sigh*
