hot button topics..
I. cannot. initially. pass. up. a. "hot-button" conversation.
WHY, for the love of all that is holy, am I so drawn in?!
Someone will bring up a topic... something that I disagree with... and before I realize it...my blood is boiling by the sheer stupidity or narrowminded-ness of it all. Or the assumptions people make... MAN!
I'll be reading along in my list of blogs... linking to some that my favorites deem "good ones" and all of a sudden.... I'm in the fray... totally in it.
People in my past would bait me on purpose, because they knew how fast I'd jump in, with both feet.
Over the years, mannnyyyyy years...I've worked on this... I'm not cured--but i'm better at shutting my mouth before I feel I have to voice my opinion... on most occasions. (Family doesn't count, right?! lol)
I cannot stand people who feel they can judge me or others based on their own opinion. I cannot stand when people think their way is the only way (such as the post I wrote about with HS'ing).The list of irritations is long and drawn out... but suffice it to say, that I hate when people won't see someone else's side. IE: WALK IN THEIR SHOES so to speak.
I have tried to be more like my husband... who,incidently, VERY rarely get's worked up over "hot-button-issues". He is awesome at staying out of it all.
It's tough. And I lament it everytime I rattle off and post a reply to someone elses "hot button discussion" ... especially when they don't offer me a TRASHCAN to delete my harsh feelings.
People ... Get me a trashcan.
