Missed Manners
I am so sick of people doing a crappy job when they are getting paid WELL to do it right.
It's like an epidemic.
One instance is the lawn service that we pay for. We pay manditorily as part of our rent.
EVERY. Single. time. they come, they do a crap job. Half the time, they forget to edge around the back of the house (they are supposed to edge around the house, around the sidewalks and back porches and then fences if you have them. I do not.)
I have many neighbors who have had their hoses chopped up, because the mowers just run right over them. Now, I could understand it if we knew exactly what day the people were coming, but there is no pattern. So one never knows when they should not be watering or when they need to have their hose rolled up.Today, I heard the hum of the mowers off in the distance.. mentally checked what day it was (still doesn't match any pattern) and finished showering. After I finished dressing, I suddenly remembered that I'd watered my flowers last night and didn't roll up the hose. I peeked out the window at the side of my door, to see the mower knock over my wrought iron wheel barrel with flowers in it (WHICH IS ON THE SIDEWALK) and just continue with his mowing. Just as he was about to drive over my hose, he glanced in my direction, saw I was looking and stopped and moved the hose.
Would he have done it had I not been looking?
Who knows.
The point is...
What happend to the days of common courtesy?
I rarely see people going the extra mile these days at their jobs.
It surely makes me mindful of my own actions.
