C'mon, get happy!
Ok. I'm over the frustration of yesterday's post.
It's time to get happy.
I want to share a wonderful lesson we did this past week in school.
Lolly turned me on to "Immersed in Verse" -- So AWESOME!But.. I won't digress...
A few lessons in... I discovered an assignment from the poetry of none other than George Ella Lyon, the "I AM FROM" poetry dude!
Each child's poem plucked at the past, and closing my eyes, I could see vividly their own memories as though they were from yesterday.

I am from Texas and Scotland;
from pizza and chicken.
And Grandpa's Miracle.

From 'Don't hit people' and ' Don't lick your toes'.

And from the band-aids to fix a cough;
and the kisses to heal a skinned knee.
