Phone-y business
Today has been such a wonderfully quiet day. I cleaned my house... did some laundry... and the phone hasn't rung all day. I love those days.
Until my BIL IM'ed me and asked me if I was screening my calls.... 'uh, no' was my confused reply. He said he'd tried to call us...and no answer. So, I whipped out the cell phones, and called my house, Nothing. hm.
Called the phone company and got their lovely phone automated system. Now, there isn't much of that in Germany, so I'm wayyyy out of practice. So I went through the paces... "Say yes or press one" "Say yes or press 6" and so on.... (I felt like the guy on that Capitol One commercial.) One question brought me to was "press one if you do not have a dial tone" So, I pressed one. The VERY NEXT QUESTION was... "Are you calling from the phone that doesn't have a dial tone?" I sat there...confused. How is that possible? Can you call from a phone that has no dial tone? wouldn't this be why I'm calling in the first place? I mean... not to be rude, but why would I be calling if I could call out?? ... I do realize that having 5 kids has done something to my brain cells.. and on the brink of losing my mind. but have I already lost it??
