Daffodil, tulip, or crocus?
Spring is here! Ok... so it officially doesn't start until Monday the 21st (Lolly's bday-- Happy Birthday) But the moment the snow melted, the crocus in my yard began popping up EVERYWHERE. I had forgotten that I had added so many bulbs last year. My kids have been outside every day after school since Monday, and I love that they come back in exhausted and fall right to sleep at night. Already we have had the "Summer Time" sort of activities, including an incident involving a super-soaker water gun and a dead mouse, and reassuring that he won't get some freakish disease by touching the contaminated, afore-mentioned water gun (despite what Seth and Joel say). Sand is in the stairwell, shoes, socks and every place possible on a child. Screams of laughter and game playing waft through our windows. The sandwhich and salad requests have begun already and even the "Can we just have cereal" request...anything to hurry and get back outside to their friends. Even my "grown-up-hair-primping" girls have been out running with the dogs on leashes, playing kickball, and the croquet and badmitton sets are probably next on the list. I love spring. All the beautiful crocus are out.....and the daffodil's long stems, as well as the tulips are getting ready to bloom. The yellow with the purple is just heavenly. I love Spring mostly because I know it means long summer nights are on their way....and that means more family fun......sated exhausted kids.... no school..... and no schedule for the most part!
