Taken outside my front door, @ 9am
This morning, dawn arrived in dismal, cold darkness....and when my alarm intruded on my deep sleep.. I groaned.
I didn't want to get up.
I pushed back the covers, only to snatch them back again.
Coldness invaded my comforter.
I groaned again.
My mind questioned:How is it possible that it was 65 degrees yesterday...and today is supposed to snow?
I had to force myself to get out of bed. And when my toes touched the cold floor, I had to force myself to STAY out of bed.
I felt my way through the dark... got dressed, brushed my teeth and put my hair in a carless ponytail...all to make my morning drive with the girls.Today is the sort of day that I look out on the frozen world, and marvels at the changes nature makes.Today is the sort of day that makes me reflective.Today is the sort of day that makes me mentally calculate all the things I've put off during sunny days, and actually list them on paper.
"Winter, a bad guest, sitteth with me at home; blue are my hands with his friendly handshaking."
~~Friedrich Nietzsche
