October is BCA Month...

***dragging out my soapbox...tapping the microphone...***
Ahem.
Is this thing on?
*feed-back squelch*
Whoops.
Ok.
Most of you have probably already know that my dad was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 1/2 years ago. So I am particularly tender about the subject of Breast Cancer.
My plea to you is to not only check yourself once a month, but to check your husband's once a month, or encourage them to check themselves.
This is NOT just a women's disease.
There is no rhyme nor reason to when and who this disease can affect.
Many people don't know what they should be looking for. Normal women have lots of lumps and bumps all around the breast area. Rule of thumb is: Lumps that feel rice-crispy-ish are normal. Lumps that feel like a BB, pearl, or marble are not.
Pain is often time NOT ASSOCIATED with Cancerous masses, so don't think that if it doesn't hurt, it's fine.
Be aware.
