Whatcha Thinkin, Hun?
Tonight my kids had youth night at our church.
Normally A takes them since he serves with the youth boys. But since he is sick, I had to take the 2 YW and the Cub. I dread going, because my least favorite people usually are waiting for their kids and I just want to hide out in my car and read while there. Somehow I always seem to get sucked into some stupid conversation....and I HATE that. Also, I did it for over 6 years...I'm tired of doing it myself. I have totally been enjoying the break with A taking them. Now, remember--oh, gentle reader---that our family only has one car and it seats 5 technically, but is a better ride for 4 people. The first person I run into is someone I'm am really irriated with because she (and her husband) keep leaving me in a bind....In a bind I cannot, at the moment, do a darn thing about. Anyway, She asks me if I could please take her kids home after the activity (they live near us) so she can spend time with her husband. I point to the car I have...as if she doesn't know, already. She looks at me, as if to say "SO..?" I tell her that her nearly 6 foot kid and her daughter probably won't fit in with my 3 kids and me. She says "Well, 6foot boy could hold your cub boy on his lap... and then the others could squeeze in the back."
Ok. 1st: I hate to be put on the spot. But worst than that..... 2nd: ...HOW ABOUT YOU TAKE MY KIDS IN YOUR SUBURBAN and let ME GO HOME AND TAKE CARE OF MY SICK HUSBAND, Instead?! And 3rd: Who buys a suburban with only 2 kids?
