Just swimmingly

We went swimming today....and of course it was an indoor schwimbad since it is like 40 degrees here. Some kind of summer we're having, eh? A didn't go because he is still sick and is losing his big toe nail...and was worried some kid would step on it. Ew. L was grounded so it was only the 4 kids and me. It is our favorite Schwimbad. We love it because it has 4 pools and 2 water rides--a tube-slide and "The Rapids". I'm quite certain I've mentioned it before. We went with some people from our ward, but it was mostly ladies I don't have much in common with, and a husband with his kids. I like them all pretty much, I just don't have much in common with them. And the main reason I went with them, is because my kids are friends with their kids. So, my option was to play with the two little ones, while my two big ones played with their friends. It was wonderful. I realized I don't spend enough play time with them. I am so used to my older girls playing with them... AJ did a lot of hugging with me, which he rarely does, and I realized that maybe he rarely does because I don't always initiate it. I need to do that more. I learned that the youngest of the clan is so much braver than I thought. She went on the tube-slide, all by herself, ending in a belly flop in a 4'pool, bobbed up and said "AGAIN!" when I was sure there'd be tears. I need to expect more. I enjoyed them so much...that the 3 hours went in a blink of an eye. What a great way to spend a day.
