Works For Me~~HeatingPads

Y'know, as I sit here typing, wracking my brain for a WFMW, the only think I can think of is about this fantastic inexpensive safe heating pad sitting in my lap that is so versatile and used in my home, I cannot imagine life without it.

Take a SOCK (Preferably CLEAN with NO HOLES *grin*. Fill it halfway to the top with rice. Tie a knot in the top to prevent Spillage.

VOILA!

You got yerself a heating pad.

Heat it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and use it for all that ails ya.

We use it for backaches, PMS, cold winter nights, taking the car on early morning drives when the car is barely scraped of snow.... anything. I have a smaller one I keep in the freezer for aches and pain as well.... sprained ankles, strained muscles, headaches.... you name it.

I have a rice-sock, LOL! I would have to say, though 'know your microwave.' Mine gets awfully hot in barely a minute! But I love the way you can conform it to whatever part of your body you like.

I have one of those rice socks, but I never thought to use it on those cold mornings in the car! I'll have to steal that idea now... :)
Hey Lammy,
I had one of these, but instead of a sock we used a bathroom towel. and sewed it in half and filled it. Well I went to use mine the other day because I had twisted my back and I heated it for 2 mins which I've done several times before and it started on fire :( I was sooo sad I had to get rid of it. Maybe next time I'll do a sock instead.
