Snow Days
I took down all my "snow" stuff (since our weather has been without snow)... and put up my "Valentine" stuff. I potted some cute red and white flowers suitable for crisper weather in a very cute galvanized, antique washtub and tied a red checkered bow on the handle, and set it out on my front stoop. You know what's coming.... It snowed yesterday. Seriously dumped about 3 inches of the white stuff. Oh well, so much for cute spring-ier stuff... I was actually looking forward to the more milder weather. The kids were absolutly thrilled. We took the morning off, donned all our gear, filled our hot chocolate thermos, and marched over to the big sledding hill, where the snow was practically untouched. It was gorgeous. The kids and I laughed and laughed. It has been ages. It was so nice...to not be on a schedule. This is one of the many reasons I am glad we homeschool. The muffled screams of my oldest girls, as they all try to stay on a dinky little sled together going down the hill...made me chuckle. I smiled as I watched my son wiped out 1/2 way down the hill, when he caught the giggles so hard, he could hardly talk. I laughed right out loud when Elizabeth said, "Momma, this is the best blister I've ever seen" Translation: Blizzard
