a fleeting moment...
Usually, I'm the kind of person who hates to waste time.
I feel bad if I take a nap in the day...
wasting time that could easily be spent on cleaning up...or playing with my kids.
Especially since working full time.
There are moments tho, when I don't mind at all.
Today, I picked green beans from our garden, cleaned up the back yard and bleached bathrooms & my kitchen.
After that...
I took a nap.
I woke to thunder claps....
loud and welcomed....
especially since our last waterbill has doubled since last month.
I remembered the water sprinkler that was on and had daughter go out and turn it off.
I sat down to read my favorites online.... another time waster...
when Achilles called me into the backyard.
I groaned...
I didn't want to go out there....
I just wanted to sit here, reading and catching up...
but I went.
albeit grudgingly.
I looked at him, expectantly, sure to show my irritation.
He pointed to the eastern sky.
I looked over
and audibly gasped.
The most beautiful rainbow.
I instantly smiled and quickly repented of my irritation.
I watched E placing her buckets around the porch for her self-initiated "science- project" and threw the ball for the dogs.
I glanced back, and the rainbow was gone.
And I headed back in the house,
with a smile on my lips,
and a prayer of gratitude in my heart for those precious fleeting moments.
