Electronic-free days.
We opted for a "ELECTRONIC FREE" day yesterday, since I was off of work, and since there seems always to be something that interferes with family time...either self inflicted or not.
We turned off phones, cellphones, computers, TV's and opted for silly game time.
After we played, we made a trip to the fabric store to get the 3 girls their material for their TREK quilts. We only have until July, so we decided we better get started.
Then we went to Waldemart.... to look at their fabric as well, and came home with this.

Do you remember the joy, when you were young, of buying something big for yourself?
The feeling of ownership?
The pride in taking care of something of your very own?

I had forgotten that feeling....
until yesterday.
E finally decided to spend her birthday and Christmas money.
She bought her own aquarium, rocks, and fish.
We read 3 chapters in our book last night, and fell into bed happy, content and exhausted.
I love those kind of days.

Anyway, my kids are deprived, they only get electronics day on Friday - but we read every night and they seem to really enjoy it
I try to get him to read occasionally, but the kids all balk because he doesn't do the voices.
lol
The only thing we take turns reading is scriptures.
