Best gift ever...

My favorite gift this year, next to the olive garden giftcard, is the steamcleaner my daughter is planning to rent and clean my upstairs carpets.
Yay me.

We also got a ham, which we had for dinner yesterday and today making split pea soup.
I -HEART-my crockpot.

On Christmas, my very musical Sister-in-law and husband (7 kids --all classical musicians, one whom played for the Ewtaw Symphony when she was 6! YES you read that right)that own a musical studio, offered to record my girls singing... after hearing them on Christmas day singing christmas carols for the family.
If it turns out.....
GUESS WHAT EVERYONE IS GETTING FOR CHRISTMAS NEXT YEAR!?

I like living 3-4 hours from family. It's close enough we can visit but far enough that they can't just pop over whenever, or vice versa. We miss out on some things, sure, but at least we all still like each other. For the most part ;)
It's so scary and hard to make decisions that impact the whole family. At what point do you figure you made the wrong decision? Do you just stick it out and wait for it to get better? I'm glad to hear there was some peace to be had though.
A real live professional recording of your girls? very cool!
